How We Serve

How We Serve

Our ministry flows from the promises we make at baptism. Those promises don't stay inside the church walls, they send us out into the world, and they shape our common life.

Worship

At the centre of our common life is our gathering for worship: the breaking of bread, the reading of Scripture, and the prayers. Our congregations in the deanery gather on Sundays (see Where to Find Us for more information on service times), and we come together across congregations throughout the year for seasonal celebrations and shared services.

Formation

We believe faith needs to be formed, rather than assumed. Across our congregations, we offer opportunities to study scripture, to explore the Christian tradition, and to reckon honestly with our colonial history.

Neighbours

We seek to serve Christ in the people around us. That looks different in different communities, but in each case we try to pay attention to what is needed in our neighbourhoods, and to respond accordingly.

Creation

We are committed to the integrity of God's creation, and to the particular land and watershed we inhabit. We try to let that commitment shape our worship, our formation, and our engagement with our neighbours.
