Annual Corn Boil this Sunday · Épluchette de blé d'Inde ce dimanche

The Blair family invites you to an annual corn boil party at their home in St-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans this Sunday, September 13, starting at 1 p.m. Everyone from every congregation is welcome! Corn on the cob will be provided, but you're encouraged to bring a potluck-style dish to share, along with any musical instruments you may play. For those of you who remember Aldo, the donkey who once lived in the backyard of Bishopthorpe (now Church House), he'll be in residence at the Blairs for the corn boil. We're excited to be participating in Fall Fest 2026! This fun-filled, family-friendly community celebration is hosted by Voice of English-speaking Québec in partnership with the Central Québec School Board. Fall Fest brings together community organizations, local businesses, cultural groups, and performers for a day of discovery, connection, and entertainment. Drop in and say hello! The event will be held on Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Quebec High School, 945 avenue Belvédère.

Feast of St. Michael & Apple Picking on Île-d’Orléans · Fête de Saint-Michel et cueillette de pommes à l’Île-d’Orléans

Celebrating the feast day of St. Michael, the patron saint of grocers, with an apple-picking outing on Île-d’Orléans seems like a perfectly fitting tribute! Following the 10 a.m. celebration of the eucharist at St. Michael’s Church on Sunday, September 27, we'll gather for a reception at the church before heading to the island together for some apple picking fun. If you'd like to contribute a festive dish for sharing after the service, we'd love that! Please contact Canon Jeffrey Metcalfe if you plan to join in the apple picking; this will help us coordinate rides. All are welcome to attend the eucharist and join us for apple picking, regardless of whether you can make the service itself.

Célébrer la fête de Saint-Michel, saint patron des épiciers, par une sortie de cueillette de pommes sur l’Île-d’Orléans semble être un hommage tout à fait approprié! Après la célébration eucharistique de 10 h à l’église Saint-Michael, le dimanche 27 septembre, nous nous réunirons pour une réception à l’église avant de nous rendre ensemble sur l’île pour profiter d’une agréable cueillette de pommes. Si vous souhaitez apporter un plat festif à partager après le service, nous en serions ravis! Veuillez communiquer avec le chanoine Jeffrey Metcalfe si vous prévoyez participer à la cueillette des pommes; cela nous aidera à coordonner le transport. We're inviting everyone in our communities to take a few minutes to complete our new Gifts and Involvement Survey. It's a chance to let us know about the gifts, skills, and interests you might like to bring to our shared ministries, whether that's something you're already doing or something new you'd like to explore. Filling it out doesn't commit you to anything; it simply helps us plan for the future. Training is available for many roles, so don't hold back if something interests you but feels unfamiliar.

Guided Imagery Meditation · La méditation par la visualisation

With guided imagery, those who meditate are invited to use their imagination to engage with the biblical text from within, active participants in the story. As in the past, the meditations will be lead in French but participants can express themselves in English, if they wish, during times of group discussion. The sessions will take place at St. Michael's Church (1800 chemin Saint-Louis).
